Work With Stone and Light
Join a team that values compassion, dignity, dependability, and meaningful support for seniors and their families in the Omaha area. If you are the kind of person who finds purpose in showing up for others, we would like to hear from you.
Work That Actually Means Something
A lot of jobs say they are meaningful. This one genuinely is.
As a companion with Stone and Light, you will build real relationships with the seniors you visit. You will be a consistent, trusted presence in someone's week — and over time, in their life. The families we work with are grateful in ways that are hard to describe.
We are a small, values-driven company based in Omaha. We do not treat companions as interchangeable. We invest in the right matches, communicate openly, and treat everyone on our team with the same respect we ask them to bring to every visit.
Who We're Looking For
We hire for character first. Skills can be developed — kindness and reliability cannot be trained into someone who does not already have them.
Compassionate and Warm
You genuinely enjoy spending time with older adults and bring real care to every interaction.
Dependable and Consistent
You show up on time, follow through on commitments, and understand how much reliability matters to the people we serve.
A Strong Communicator
You listen well, speak respectfully, and can provide clear, professional updates to families.
Patient and Respectful
You approach every person with dignity, move at their pace, and never make anyone feel like a burden.
Mission-Driven
You feel called to this kind of work — not just looking for any job, but wanting work that aligns with your values.
Experience Welcome, Not Required
Prior caregiving or companionship experience is helpful and appreciated, but not required for all positions. We will tell you clearly what each role requires.
Possible Responsibilities
Roles may vary depending on the seniors you are matched with, but typical responsibilities include:
- Visiting seniors in their homes, assisted living facilities, or care communities
- Providing genuine companionship — conversation, listening, shared activities
- Helping reduce isolation through consistent social connection
- Supporting a calm, comfortable, and enjoyable environment during visits
- Communicating professionally and promptly with families and Stone and Light team members
- Providing brief written or verbal updates after each visit
Non-Medical Companionship
Unless a specific role states otherwise, positions at Stone and Light involve non-medical companionship only. Companions do not administer medications, provide personal care, perform medical procedures, or deliver skilled nursing services.
We will always be transparent about what a role involves before you apply or accept a position.
Stone and Light companions are not required to provide medical care unless their specific role and qualifications require it. Most positions are non-medical in nature.
